Space age addition to Victorian cottage

Inside the kitchen.

From the front this is just another terraced brick cottage but at the back an innovative, glass extension has been created to house a new kitchen. The design meant that no pipes could be viewed internally or externally. The glass roof is suspended above the glass walls by steel poles.

A particularly good working relationship developed between client, builder, architect and planners to produce a great team effort.

What the customer said:

"With an architectural vision for an extension which needed innovative techniques and materials, there was real potential for significant difficulties. Particularly impressive was the ability to offer a variety of solutions as problems arose."
Anthony Mawby.

What the Master Builder of the Year judges said:

"The builder was highly praised by the clients not least for keeping them regularly kept informed of developments and the architects took a special interest in the project which helped to produce such a successful result."
