Welsh 'Tardis' reveals its secrets

At first glance, this looks like any other small dormer style bungalow, but once inside the Tardis effect hits you, as the full impact of a three storey home built on the side of a cliff face becomes clear. The restrictions of the site meant the cliff face had to be excavated and a retaining wall constructed before foundations were pinned to the cliff.

The finished building is an energy efficient home featuring well-insulated walls and windows while its white-rendered exterior and slate roof is very much in keeping with local design. Inside the house, which overlooks Pembroke Sound, the galleried and mezzanine areas offer a magical sense of light and space as well magnificent views. The modern interior uses glass doors and wood and steel balustrades to open up the space, with beech laminate floors and white painted walls adding to the contemporary feel.
