Restoration of large Victorian home and conversion into two properties
The project involved the meticulous restoration and renovation of a large Victorian house in Comber, just west of Belfast, into two spacious three-storey homes. Original features and materials were restored and re-used as much as possible, for example external and internal cornicing work, fire surrounds and hearths. The builders discovered hidden partition doors between the drawing room and dining room, which they restored using all the original cornices, frames, cabinets, guides and rollers.

What the customer said:Throughout the construction period, the contractor explained what was happening, always discussed any cost implications and was very proud of each step in the restoration. The clients said the builders had produced a historical landmark for the country town of Comber and that passers by call to admire the property and ask for the builders' details.
