Energy Saving Trust

If you just save 20% of the energy you use everyday you'll help prevent climate change.

We all use energy every day - at home, at work and when we travel. To generate that energy, we burn fossil fuels (coal, oil and gas) that produce 'greenhouse' gases - in particular carbon dioxide (CO2) - which are changing our climate and damaging the environment. www.saveyour20percent.co.uk explains how that process works and how you can take simple steps to save your 20%.

The Energy Saving Trust launched its new £5 million national consumer campaign, 'Save Your 20%', during Energy Saving Week (24th-30th October). The 'Save Your 20%' theme is designed to encourage you to adopt multiple energy saving measures in your everyday lives to help reduce 20% of your energy consumption and in turn do your bit to prevent climate change.

Energy saving week is an initiative run by the Energy Saving Trust and is now in its ninth year. The week long national campaign is designed to raise awareness of the damaging effect that wasting energy has on the climate.

There are lots of different ways you can reduce your energy use and save as much as £250 each year on your energy bills. Home improvements such as wall and loft insulation, buying 'energy saving recommended' products or installing renewable technologies can all help you save your 20%.
